Healthy Ice Cream

Yep, ice cream can be healthy. That,s what I learned when I started experimenting with vegan recipes. Isn,t it amazing that you can enjoy a bowl of ice cream without any guilt?

So, the recipe. It,s outrageously simple as you,ll need only two ingredients: a cup of frozen mango cubes and a small really ripe avocado. Just blend them until smooth and enjoy! I love adding a teaspoon of spirulina powder to the mix to get this gorgeous green colour.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Almost There

And all of a sudden it,s the end of May and I,m almost done with my first year at uni. No more classes. No more getting up ridiculously early. This week has been a tough one but it,s over. Now it,s time for exam preparation and I really should start worrying about all that stuff. ( I,m suspiciously calm! And not because I know everything perfectly, believe me. You have no idea how bad I am at general linguistics.)
Anyway, no exams ever will prevent me from going for a long walk with my mom. Just love these spring/summer evenings spent together in a park. And they are always a good excuse to snap some outfit pictures.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Arina (2)

This spring has been so warm and sunny here in St.Petersburg that it is kind of suspicious. Not wearing a coat in April? Hm, really wierd. Breaking all the stereotypes.
Anyway, I,ve been taking full advantage of this amazing weather taking portraits outside. In the university botanical garden, to be exact. We discovered this magical place on one freezing autumn day and ever since then I,ve wanted to use it as a photoshoot location. Some places are just super inspiring and have a very special atmosphere, you know. No wonder I wanted to photograph my favorite girl there.
You might remember Arina from this post. Now she has a new vibrant hairstyle. Yeah, she is the girl who can pull it off. She is simply gorgeous and I might have a serious girl crush. Especially after the amazing job she did as a model.

Wishing you guys a wonderful week!

Love,
Vera

Back to Digital

I haven,t worked with a digital camera for ages and it was a well needed break I must say. Now I have a whole different approach to using it. The feeling that I get when I take pictures reminds me of what I felt when I was new to my camera and it kind of feels like rediscovering it,s possibilities.

It,s been also quite a while since I posted photos of nature here but this April I had so much fun photographing fragile spring flowers! Seriously couldn,t stop.

Last weekend I went for a walk with this girl who I haven,t seen for years and we had a lovely time there. At least I did. I quess people are bored when they talk to me because I,m not witty in the slightest way... But maybe I,m just too strict with myself.

Have a nice day!

Larisa and ramblings

I wonder how other people survive all this craziness that photography brings.
At first you feel inspired and ask someone to model for you. Then you arrange a photoshoot and take your 36 photos. Then you bring them to a photo lab and have to wait several days. You go absolutely crazy trying to remember if you did everything right and sometimes you suddenly realize that you forgot to push this or that button and your heart sinks and you keep thinking about that stupid mistake. It,s impossible to concentrate on anything else. Then you finally get your film roll developed and see that everything is alright. You even really like the result. You keep looking at your photos and then... I don,t understand why this always happens but in the end of the day I literally hate them.

I feel inspired and ready to create but when it,s time to take pictures I,m unable to think of anything interesting and end up with my mediocre and lifeless photographs. I decide to quit photography every day but I can,t because I just love pressing the shutter button. And the circle of self-loathing begins again. I quess this is the pain of realizing that I,m ordinary. Breaking myths about yourself is never easy, right?

Seems that I,ll never learn the art of writing optimistic posts, I,m sorry. But I hope you are having a great Sunday!

No Limits to Dream

Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well.
This is just a quick outfit post. I was going to ramble about photography here but I,ve got a roll of film developed so I thought it would be reasonable to do it next time when I post the portraits.

These photos were taken last week when I went to the countryside with my family and had a wonderful time there enjoying great weather, first green leaves and all that stuff. Spring is such a beautiful time of the year! Too bad I have to stay in the city and study this weekend...

Have a nice day!

Vera
