Hi everyone! Remember me? So, I,m alive and I feel really sorry about neglecting my blog. There is not much to tell actually... Life is now all about surviving long days at uni and procrastinating on weekends although there,s homework to do.

Well, at least I,ve got some photos to share. These had been taken a couple of days before all the leaves were blown away. I,m so happy I got the chance to use those yellow tones as a background! Ah, totally feel like doing a new photo shoot, it,s been quite a long while since the last one.

Have a nice week!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing great.
As for me, life has been keeping me busy lately but I enjoy it. One of the secrets of staying optimistic is appreciating the small things in life. It always helps although it might take some time to learn the science of gratitude.

Now that this hectic week is over I finally have the time to share some photos from a recent photo shoot. Vera contacted me for the first time back in May but I was busy and stressed with exams and felt completely uninspired, so we had to postpone everything. Only a couple of weeks ago I realized I had gained enough inspiration for a new photo shoot and it finally happened.
I,m so happy I got the chance to meet this wonderful girl! She has a rare kind of beauty: when you look at her you can see her wonderful personality. It,s not everyday that you see such kind eyes in front of your lens.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Step Into Autumn

Well, these photographs are very special to me. For several reasons. Firstly, this girl. Alyona is the only person who I feel absolutely comfortable around and I always appreciate her company. Secondly, these photos remind me of how warm that beautiful evening was. There was still a hint of summer in the air. Thirdly and most importantly, these pictures were taken with my new Rolleiflex camera. It was my first medium format experience and I,m so happy with the outcome! The camera is about 60 years old but works perfectly, I can,t wait to take more portraits with it.

Have a nice day everyone!

So, in the end of July I traveled to Gotland with my dad. What is Gotland? It is a swedish island, and quite a fascinating one. Driving through the island makes you feel confused all the time because your mind keeps failing to understand how the elements of the south can be mixed into a northern lanscape so effortlessly.
Gotland is everything. It has a most impressive coastline: amazing sea stacks, sandy beaches, rich bird life... This island even has it,s own savannah. Yep, a northern savannah.
Being the one who explores the world through the lens of a camera I secretly hoped for a cloudy weather. Imagine it: dramatic cliffs and a gloomy sky in the background. Perfection. But this never happened. When we arrived the sun was scorching from above.

Anyway, nothing could spoil the experience. It was quite a short trip but I enjoyed every minute of it. It was a great escape from reality and Gotland is the right place for an off the beaten path vacation.

Wishing everyone a nice day!

I,ve been really into plants lately. It all started when my mom brought home small cacti from Ikea and taking care of them turned out to be so much fun! Later I discovered a greenhouse in the university garden and got fascinated by the greenery I found there, especially by succulents. I know, everyone likes succulents nowadays, so being obsessed with them looks like following the trend, right? But I think it,s a good trend. Taking care of plants teaches you things like patience and responsibility and brings you closer to nature.
My succulent and cacti collection is growing really fast and I get overexcited every time I see them. Guess what,s on my birthday wish list? Right. A pretty succulent. Or two, you can,t have too many of them.

Have a lovely Monday everyone!

On Changes and Balance.

Hello everyone!

It,s been such a long time since I posted anything here that I almost forgot how to do it and have no idea what to start with. I guess I should tell you something about life lately .
I haven,t blogged since May because I had exams. Two of them went well while the other two were a disaster and I felt like a complete failure. June was a month of deep self-reflection and countless "why-am-I-such-a-loser" questions and this time I really focused on finding the answer. Because I don,t believe in fate and there must be some logic in what happens in life.
You can improve something only after discovering the problem and most of the time this includes accepting a bitter truth about life...or about yourself, which is even worse. Because being your own problem is nothing exciting.
Have you ever felt completely out of balance? The worst feeling ever. Like life is falling apart and everything goes wrong. I,m turning 19 soon and I,ve been feeling so empty lately. I don,t know who I am and where I,m going. Sometimes I just want to give up everything because I don,t know what the path I have chosen leads to. Starting everything all over is not as crazy as it seems actually. It,s refreshing. Changes are good. Right now I,m feeling really adventurous and I,m slowly but surely gaining inner strength and balance, which feels oh-so-good.

Well, that,s all for now. There will be a new post tomorrow, with pictures.

Have a nice day!

Healthy Ice Cream

Yep, ice cream can be healthy. That,s what I learned when I started experimenting with vegan recipes. Isn,t it amazing that you can enjoy a bowl of ice cream without any guilt?

So, the recipe. It,s outrageously simple as you,ll need only two ingredients: a cup of frozen mango cubes and a small really ripe avocado. Just blend them until smooth and enjoy! I love adding a teaspoon of spirulina powder to the mix to get this gorgeous green colour.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Almost There

And all of a sudden it,s the end of May and I,m almost done with my first year at uni. No more classes. No more getting up ridiculously early. This week has been a tough one but it,s over. Now it,s time for exam preparation and I really should start worrying about all that stuff. ( I,m suspiciously calm! And not because I know everything perfectly, believe me. You have no idea how bad I am at general linguistics.)
Anyway, no exams ever will prevent me from going for a long walk with my mom. Just love these spring/summer evenings spent together in a park. And they are always a good excuse to snap some outfit pictures.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Arina (2)

This spring has been so warm and sunny here in St.Petersburg that it is kind of suspicious. Not wearing a coat in April? Hm, really wierd. Breaking all the stereotypes.
Anyway, I,ve been taking full advantage of this amazing weather taking portraits outside. In the university botanical garden, to be exact. We discovered this magical place on one freezing autumn day and ever since then I,ve wanted to use it as a photoshoot location. Some places are just super inspiring and have a very special atmosphere, you know. No wonder I wanted to photograph my favorite girl there.
You might remember Arina from this post. Now she has a new vibrant hairstyle. Yeah, she is the girl who can pull it off. She is simply gorgeous and I might have a serious girl crush. Especially after the amazing job she did as a model.

Wishing you guys a wonderful week!
