Look into your heart and you'll find love

I think I have finally found the perfect place in our apartment for taking outfit pictures and this place is... the kitchen! It is quite cramped but the light there is just right. I deliberately made the picture below overexposed because I,m tired of the ones where my face is hidden somewhere in the darkness.
I,ve been meaning to show you this tennis skirt for quite a while. I,m so in love with it! It,s flattering and the color is gorgeous but most importantly this skirt is from American Apparel. I bumped into their store in Stockholm last month and simply couldn,t leave it without buying something. It was great to see all that clothes in real life and try them on because I often browse their website for inspiration.
I know that a lot of people hate AA for their ads. Well, some of them might be slutty but I think that the rest are super stylish. What they do is revolutionary: the photos are not photoshopped and the models look natural and healthy. I also like the flexibility trend: they show that being flexible and fit is beautiful and it,s not necessary to be all skin and bones. I,ve been so inspired by their ads lately that I started stretching and I hope I,ll be able to do a split soon because I,ve already made some visible progress.

Anyway, I hope you are having a wonderful week :)
P.S. The title of this post is just the phrase from the song that I,m currently obsessed with.

Two Years

It,s been two years since I started this blog and I,m so happy I did! I do remember the moment I created my blog very clearly. I was alone at home and felt as if I were doing something illegal because I wasn,t sure whether using Blogger was free or not: I,m such a coward when it comes to trying new things...
I had a really hard time choosing the title: I wanted the name to sound romantic and reflect the content of my blog. At that time I thought I would share photos of nature and that is why I came up with this "witness the miracle" eventually. Anyway, I think this title is kinda universal because life itself is a miracle and whatever I write about, I describe life.
When the blog was created I started sharing articles about fashion ( Wait, what? Fashion? Why not photos of nature?) written in the style of Garance Dore. I mean I used "yeeeaaahh", "yep", "here we go" and other words that were supposed to make my writing oh so cool. Of course, my articles were nothing special and it didn,t take me much time to realize I wasn,t ready for a fashion blog and wasn,t ready to be the second Garance. Very soon I started sharing pictures of flowers, cats and my outfits. I started writing not about fashion but about my feelings and memories and it was the moment when I finally started getting feedback, which was encouraging.

Feedback is what makes blogging enjoyable and rewarding. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for reading my ramblings. The kind words that you leave in the comment section are very inspiring and the fact that so many people are interested in what I share does amaze me. Thank you so much!

P.S. Spring is officially here! Yay!

Have a wonderful day!

Instagram photo diary

I,m having a really important math test this Saturday and I,ve spent the entire week getting ready for it. I now feel a lot more confident in my math skills and I hope I,ll get a good mark. I even enjoy kinda like math because it,s actually very easy when you know formulas.

These are the pictures that I took during the cruise and posted to Instagram(@verarolle). It was too cold to use a digital camera and I ended up taking pictures with my iphone, which was a really useful experience. At least everything was in focus: my 50mm lens doesn,t allow me to take decent photos of buildings and cityscapes.

Hope you enjoyed the pics :)
Have a great day!

This was supposed to be a travel diary... I came up with random thoughts instead.

Oh well, it took me quite a while to put this post together because I,ve been really busy with my studies but better late than never, right?
So, the cruise. I swear I,ll never go on a cruise in Winter or early Spring again. Why? Because of ice! When I first saw the ice covered sea I only made a joke about our never ending Winter and I didn,t think there would be any problems. Only later did I realize how much trouble ice can cause.
Due to some bad luck our cabin ( I traveled with my parents) was very close to the front of the ship. Guess what it means? We were the first to hear the dreadful sounds of the ice cracking when the ferry began making its way through the frozen sea. Horrible, horrible, horrible sounds! They really made me think about the Titanic,s fate and I couldn,t fall asleep because I was afraid our ship would sink. Sleepless nights resulted in headaches and even feeling a bit sick: not a very good thing when you are on holiday.

I think I,m falling more and more in love with Nothern Europe: I just adore everything about scandinavian countries: design, architecture, attitudes, mentality... everything! I even like the climate. It was pretty cold and windy but I really enjoyed the weather and it didn,t make me uncomfortable at all.
I told you I was tired of outfit photos and you might be wondering why there are so many of them in this post. Well, the thing is that I secretly like capturing my outfits, which is normal as all most girls enjoy getting dressed and love pretty clothes. I just feel a little bit guilty when I
share outfit photos. Probably because personal style blogs are very often accused of narcissism.

About feeling guilty. I have to make a confession: I consumed tons of sugary things during the past week (shame, shame, shame...). Trying new foods is my favorite thing about travelling and I can,t help visiting random coffee shops that look nice. Coffee, pastries, cakes, sweets... These do not seem to be healthy foods and I,m very well aware of the harm that sugar does to my body but being a sweet tooth I have chocolate (and other) cravings very often. Anyway, I think it,s high time to get back to healthy eating. I put on quite a lot of weight this winter and I don,t like the situation at all ( because who likes putting on weight?). From now on, I will maintain healthy eating habits and work out more often. This is a solemn promise.

Hope you are having a nice day!
