Happy New Year/ a video post

First of all, I,m so sorry for the lighting! It was getting dark already when I started recording this video.
Secondly, I didn,t know that my voice sounds so childish, but my voice is my voice :)
Thirdly, my pronunciation leaves much to be desired.

Have a nice day!

Ice Creatures

Another photograph of ice formations. The snow has melted and I,m already sooo excited, because the new ice will cover puddles soon, and I,ll be able to take more pictures of these weird ice creatures.

Tomorrow I,m seeing Anastasia and we will probably record a video of me talking :) Have to think over what to tell you about, because I,m not that good at speaking English spontaneously.
I hope the weather will improve, because right now it,s stormy, terrible stormy weather.

P.S.
We bought an amazing Christmas tree! I,m going to decorate it tonight and take lots of pictures :)

Have a nice day, guys!

Merry Christmas!

Had a wonderful day with my family :)
We went for a walk not to waste a sunny day.
Here in Russia we celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January, but ,anyway, Merry Christmas to you all! I enjoyed reading all of your posts so much!

I have never been good at taking photographs of branches :)

Winter forest is incredibly beautiful!

I don,t have bangs! This sometimes happens when I run fast. It looks quite ridiculous, I must say :)

Merry Christmas!

Why don,t we celebrate Halloween?...

A couple of days ago I went for a walk with my dog though it was getting dark already. Some puddles covered with ice grabbed my attention, they seemed to look quite mysterious. Too mysterious, I must say. I realized that only when I came home.
Can you see that scaring face in the upper right corner?
I do hope you see that terrifying teeth and an eye, and I,m not completely crazy.

Have a nice day and try to forget the face in the picture :)

Let It Snow

I got up early in the morning and was very quite irritated because I didn,t get enough sleep, as usual, actually. Then I looked out of the window and saw... You,ll never guess! I saw the snow covering everything :) It was marvellous to see white roofs and trees.
My mood improved right away. I had my breakfast quickly, then got dressed, grabbed a camera and went out to take some photographs. The lighting was amazing, but unfortunately I didn,t have much time as I had to go to school, pfff...

This is the last school week before winter holidays, by the way :)

Have a nice day,

Back in time (2)

Hi, guys,
First of all, I was sooo glad to receive all of your comments! It means a lot to me, thank you!

Lately I was browsing the pictures taken in summer and suddenly came upon this photograph and realized how much I miss my walks with a camera. It was actually very difficult to reach this cat and get an acceptable lighting, because he was trying to hide from me ( heh, do I look that scaring? ) under a car. Well, cats have every right to be camera shy, don,t they?

Have a nice day,
Vera

Look what this guy is doing! Isn,t he the sweetest creature?

Just kidding!
Osya rolls over every time we go for a walk :)

Don,t take this post too seriously, I,ll be back soon with a long text. I just can,t concentrate on anything else because I really put much effort into writing.

Have a nice day!

day off

Going to school has made me more than tired, even exhausted. I always have late nights and don,t get enough sleep. As a result, I didn,t heard my alarm clock ringing today.
When I woke up, it was already too late to go to school. I must admit, I was very happy to know that I had overslept and didn,t feel ashamed at all. Going to school 6 days a week? No, thanks...

It has been snowing for several hours today and I spent most of the time outside taking pictures. Such weather made me think about Christmas. By the way, I,m thinking about recording a video post this month. Although, I,m not sure I can speak English that well, I hope, you,ll be able to understand me and won,t pay much attention to my accent :)

I,m absolutely obsessed with taking photographs of water in black&white, they always do look so mysterious!

Have a nice day!

No Snow

The first day of winter. Time passes so quickly.
Christmas is approaching, isn’t it exciting? The weirdest thing is that there is still no snow here in St. Petersburg. Obviously, this winter isn’t going to be as harsh as the previous one, but who knows…

I have so many plans for this December! The most important one is to finish writing the promised text about the events that influenced my life and attitude. I actually started writing it about a month ago but I still have a lot to think over. Writing that text is definitely good for me.  I try to write so that every sentence sounds well. I have a chance to think back and to review what happened in the past. Sometimes it’s not very easy, especially to realize I have made lots of mistakes, but I know they helped me to become who I am now.

I’m also planning to write about the insecurities and fears that I have overcome. I’m tired of pretending and simply want to be candid. Talking about blogging, it’s very important to let readers know you better, with all your insecurities, imperfections or whatever. You shouldn’t hide what makes you unique and different from others.

I know that lots of bloggers only post their outfit photos and write a list of what they were wearing below. Nothing more. Can anybody explain me why so many people are interested in such blogs? How can they write “you-are-awesome” comments if they can only see clothes? I get bored by such blogs immediately.
Sure, everybody has his own way and I can’t judge people, but I want to write frankly, so that you can know who that Vera is, who posts cat photographs and misses Wiesbaden way too much.
This picture was taken in October. That reflections seem to be painted, what do you think?

Hmm… When I opened Blogger I thought I would just write how glad I am that winter has come. So, here it is, spontaneous writing :)

back in time

I have found recently some of the pictures taken using a film camera about a year ago. This must be the best one.

I haven,t taken any interesting pictures in November. Every time I go out and grab a camera with, I never meet any cats! Never! I even don,t meet any dogs.
When I go for a walk with Osya and don,t take a camera, of course, I always see the loveliest kitties who run away immediately. Isn,t that weird?

A few words about taking a break from blogging.
I still do not feel refreshed enough. I,ve realized I need more time to simplify my life. It has become way too complicated. There are too many things to be done and browsing blogs takes too much time.
You are all awesome, I appreciate your attention so much, but I,m a bit overwhelmed by blogging.

Sure, I will update my blog when I,m in the mood for it and have something interesting to tell you. I simply do not want to write about nothing and become a blogger, who posts "I-had-much-fun-today" messages every day. I am a photographer, not a blogger.

Thank you, guys, for your sweet comments, you are all so wonderful!

It,s always a good thing

Hi, guys!
I,m so glad to be with you again and to tell you what the life without the Internet is like. You know, it,s wonderful!
Well, I actually didn,t keep the promise not to browse any blogs, because there is one girl there in Sweden who has been recently diagnosed with a terrible disease, though she is very young, pretty, clever, writes amazing articles and loves cats so much! So, I check out her blog daily to know if she is ok and to send her some supportive words and a big hug. You see, browsing only one blog of a person, who has already become so dear to you, isn,t the same thing as browsing dozens of them every day!
I can say I have become happier in every way during the past few weeks. I had much time to read, to walk, to spend long evenings with my parents, to listen to my favorite music... I,ve learnt to be thankful for the small things in life and to appreciate all the small joys.
The most important thing: it seems to me, I,ve got closer to who I really am. I don,t try to be someone else, I enjoy being myself and I don,t care about how do people perceive me anymore. ( heh, I know, my English teacher wouldn,t like the way I express my thoughts, she always tells me, I write stupid sentences that no one is able to understand. Thanks God, she doesn,t read my blog and I can hardly imagine her browsing it.)
This is my current motto, guys:

"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you."
                                                                                                                                   Dr. Seuss
I adore this quotation, this must become true for everyone, then we will all be happy :)

I,m currently working on a really huge text about the events that have changed or influenced my life and about finding yourself, of course, so, stay tuned!

Have a nice day and be happy!

All the crazy thoughts that come after reading books by Dale Carnegie

Dear readers,
I have to tell you that I decided to take a break from blogging. There,s nothing wrong with you or with my passion for photography but I need some time to concentrate on my real life and to think. Seriously, I need more time for thinking.
Lately I,ve realized random thoughts that come to my mind every day are very stupid. Who,s that girl who constantly think about other bloggers, what to post tomorrow, what to wear, what to do not to look like a complete fool and so on, and so on?... I,m too obsessed with all that. I don,t want to think about what doesn,t really matter. Sometimes I have only one dream: to think about nothing for some time.
I have this blog for already seven months and I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts and pictures with you but now I feel the need to take a break. From everything. From all inspiring ( Maybe there was too much inspiration for me, heh, inspiration isn,t always a good thing.) blogs and from the Internet. I don,t want to stare at the screen all days long anymore. That,s not good. Both for my eyesight and for my mental health.
I actually do not know for how long will I keep away from my laptop but I,m planning not to browse any blogs during the next two weeks.
Sure, I will miss all of you but hope, after the break I,ll be able to put even more effort into this blog.

Have a nice day and don,t forget that I,ll be back in two weeks! :)

I,m way too lazy  ( just like this little kitten ) today to write something, but I hope this yawning guy will make you smile :)

random pics

Hi, dear readers!
I decided it was the right time to have some rest from my cat photos and Wiesbaden memories and to upload some pics which were taken during the past week.

On the first photo I,m with my aunts, kitty. They used to love cats but never had any pets and this autumn they took the plunge. This sweet creature used to be homeless and lived not far from their house and one day they noticed one of his legs was broken. They took him home and now he is absolutely healthy and very playful, and I,m so happy for him!
It has always been my dream to take a street cat or dog home, but I,m quite reasonable to understand that having one lovely dog is definitely enough for a person who lives in a small flat.

Unfortunately, the lighting was terrible and I couldn,t take any better pics of this guy.

Here are some pics from Finland :)

Kidding, just kidding, really! Having fun with Osya :)

The woman from a supermarket was giving out roses. Don,t know why she was doing that, but it was very nice anyway to get such wonderful flowers.

a very short update

I won,t write much because I,m in a hurry, I,m having an extra German lesson in two hours and have a lot to do before that.

So, have a nice day, guys!

the last day of october

It has been raining since I got up and it really seems to me that everything outside is monochrome. No colors. Practically all colorful leaves have fallen down already.
Every year I try not to pay so much attention to this terrible weather or even pretend I like it but nothing ever changes. Such weather makes me depressed. There are no sunny days at all, the sky is cloudy and it rains, rains and rains...
All I can do is to wait for snow. The snow that will cover everything and bring the sun back.

mother cat has a rest

This must be the sweetest kitty ever! I,m so glad, I captured this moment, sitting in this way is so typical of her.
You might have seen this cat already here. Now she doesn,t look so exhausted :)

Have a nice weekend,
Vera

What is obvious?

A few days ago one of my German friends who had taken part in the exchange last year sent me a message. He wrote it would be sad if we all lose contact and then I sent him a huge reply because since I,d known that there would be a new exchange I can’t stop thinking of the happiest time in my life and I admit we are about to lose contact and feel so sorry for that. I just could not resist sharing everything that was in my mind because I cannot stand to keep all thoughts to myself.
I was so inspired by my last reply (Weird, I know. How can anybody be inspired by himself?) that I decided to turn it into this post.
I took part in the exchange with German students twice and that was the best time in my life. That was unforgettable, truly unforgettable. I remember every minute, every word, every detail and it all means so much to me.
The truth is that those who also took part in the exchange do not really care about keeping in contact with each other and that makes me extremely sad. I remember how close and united we all were. I remember how we all cried in the airport and said we would never forget each other. Was it fake? I cannot believe in it.
There is nothing more between us than just “likes” on facebook. Sometimes my exchange partner writes me messages but they always sound like “I miss you”. Well, I miss you too, my dear, but I think we simply do not have to mention that, as it’s obvious.
Wait… Is it obvious for everybody?

Hope, you all had a wonderful weekend!

Today my sweetheart came back from the countryside where he had spent about 5 months with my grandmother! He has to get used to living in a flat :) I guess, it,s not so easy.
In the evening I,ll help him to take a bath because there are so many fleas in his fur! I can,t even imagine how so many fleas can live in one dog,s fur! Hope, my sweety will get rid of all that jumping insects after taking a bath!

A few days ago Rebekah ( Check out her blog, her writing is amazing!) asked me about the weather in St. Petersburg. Well, it has become very cold already. I rains and there are practically no sunny days. I,m not a fan of such weather, it makes me upset and bored but this is autumn, anyway.

I,ll talk to you soon, have a nice day,
Vera

one lovely kitten

So sorry for not posting last couple of days. I couldn,t afford any time because I was busy with my studies.
I took these pictures a week ago.
That was my last weekend in the countryside this year. Leaves were falling down, the sky was cloudy... What dreamy days! You know, I love autumn so much!

Have a nice weekend,
Vera

yellow

Hi, guys! I wish I could talk to you more often but I,m so busy with my studies.
I took this picture about two weeks ago: high time to post it, right? I love these bright yellow leaves so much!
Tomorrow I,m having extra German lessons. I finally found a new German teacher and I,m going to study thoroughly so that next time I,m in Deutschland I will be able to understand my friends and to communicate with them easily :)

P.S.
How could I forget to tell you! It has been snowing for about two hours today! Unfortunately, I was at school and couldn,t take any photos and when I came home the snow had already melted.

Have a nice day,
Vera

When leaves are falling down...

I thought there were too much cat photos this week and hope, you don,t mind me sharing these pics :)
Know what? It was snowing! Actually, it can,t be called the real snow but you can see it on this pictures, that small white grains!

Have a nice weekend,

Puppies!

What I love about blogging is the way the idea of what to write comes. If I write nothing, it means I have not enough time. It could be easier if I wrote in Russian but that would be boring. While writing a post I translate lots of words to make sure there won,t be any mistakes.
I just found the way of learning English that suits me perfectly. I,m not sure if everyone else would like to learn English through blogging.

When I was working with this this awesome grey kitty I noticed a mama dog with two puppies! I just couldn,t miss the chance to take photos of  them though I was a little bit afraid of their mother who was definitely ready to protect them but nothing terrible happened when I came up closer to the puppies. They are so sweet! I hope, someone will take them home. That is unfair if such lovely puppies are homeless.

Have a nice day,
Vera

Grey kitties

It was rainy last weekend and I didn,t hope I would meet someone as sweet as this grey kitty. This pretty grey lady is definitely one of the most photogenic cats I,ve ever seen. She reminds me very much of Kuzya, my model number one, but Kuzya spent so much time sleeping and his eyes are closed while this lady has such captivating yellow (!) widely opened eyes.
At the end of the photoshoot she tried to cose on my knees as it was really cold that day.
Taking photos of such awesome kitties is such a pleasure! They neither ran away nor come up too close.
Of course, cats that ran away make me upset sometimes, especially if they are very very lovely and sweet but those kitties that come up to my shoes make taking nice pictures literally impossible. Oh, and it is even worse if they began to meow like I,m their owner who forgot to feed them! It is nearly impossible to take any photos of such anxious cats!

Have a nice day,
Vera
